Bottom Line: If it's sheer speed you're after, the Orbi 970 Series is the clear winner here! Even though WiFi 7 devices are not even available yet, the Orbi's dedicated wireless backhaul that can provide a huge backhaul bandwidth boost might be reason enough for an early upgrade! The TP-Link has to combine a wired and wireless backhaul connection in order to match the Orbi's WiFi-only backhaul bandwidth.

Coverage Area Of The TP-Link BE85 and Orbi 970 Systems

TP-Link BE22000

The 3-pack TP-Link system covers an area of up to 9,600 square feet. This should be more than sufficient for medium to large homes.

Orbi 970 Series

Bottom Line: If budget is a concern, the TP-Link BE22000 is the better choice.

Side Note

TP-Link does make a quad-band system but only comes in a 1-pack or 2-pack device configuration. Because the Deco BE95 (see information below) still requires a combined wired/wireless backhaul, even with the quad-band 3-pack, to get what the Orbi does on wireless only. I compared the BE85 since it has a 3-pack configuration available, like the Orbi system.
